What is the best time of year to fish in Destin, Florida?
Fishing is productive year-round in Destin. Spring through early fall offers excellent action for Spanish and King Mackerel. Red Snapper season peaks in summer, and bottom fishing for Grouper and Triggerfish is strong in warmer months. Captain Robert adjusts each trip based on the season and current bite.

What should I bring on a fishing trip with Have Fun Charters?
Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, snacks, drinks (no glass), and weather-appropriate clothing. For longer trips, you may want a small cooler for food and drinks. Alcohol is allowed in moderation. We’ll take care of the rest—from gear to guidance.
Is a fishing license required for Have Fun Charters in Destin, FL?
No need to worry about licenses. Have Fun Charters covers all fishing licenses for guests on both shared and private charters, so you’re fully legal and ready to fish the moment we leave the dock.
Can pregnant guests go on a fishing trip with Have Fun Charters?
For safety reasons, Have Fun Charters does not allow pregnant guests on any of our fishing trips. The motion of the boat and changing conditions on the water may pose risks, and guest safety is our top priority.
How much should I Tip?
It is customary to tip 20% of the trip total. We work tirelessly to make sure you have a guest experience!
Do I need to bring my own gear?
No, we provide standard gear such as rods and reels so you don’t need to worry about anything. But please feel free to bring you own gear if you prefer.
